What is Nurse Coaching?

Nurse coaching is a skilled, purposeful, results-oriented and structured client interaction that is provided by Registered Nurses for the purpose of promoting achievement of client goals. (Dossey, Hess, et. al, 2013).

Nurse coaches promote and facilitate the growth, healing and wellbeing of the whole person by using coaching principles and healing modalities that integrate body-mind-emotion-spirit-environment. Nurse coaches are supportive and encouraging, building on the client’s strengths rather than attempting to correct weaknesses. Nurse coaches provide guidance and resources to the client who is the expert on their own needs and choices.(Adapted from Hess, D., Dossey, B., Southard, M. Luck, S. Schaub, B., & Bark, L. (2021). What is the difference between Health Coaching vs. Nurse Coaching vs. Consulting vs. Counseling ?

Health Coaching - is the skillful use of evidence-based conversations, clinical interventions and strategies to safely and actively engage clients who have chronic conditions or are at moderate to high risk for developing them. Minimum requirements often a high school diploma and does not require healthcare clinical experience. (American Holistic Nurses Association, 2025; Integrative Nurse Coach Academy, 2025)

Nurse Coaching- Licensed registered nurses trained in health coaching, holistic health, and behavior change. Nurse coaches are required to have several years of nursing education and experience as a foundation to their coaching. Nurse coaches integrate coaching competencies across all nursing settings and specialties to facilitate transformative growth, while also conducting comprehensive, evidence-informed health assessments that address every dimension of a client’s wellbeing. Given wide range of clinical experience, nurse coaches can provide specialized coaching in pediatric, women’s health, and end of life issues. Consulting- A consultant is an expert who is called on for professional advice. Their goal is to understand the problem and present solutions. Consulting is different than coaching because with coaching, most of the answers come from the client. (American Holistic Nurses Association, 2025)

Counseling- A counselor is trained to diagnose and manage emotional and mental health challenges, often addressing issues in their past, or their dysfunctions, while the coach’s role is to assist clients with achieving what they want in the present and future. (American Holistic Nurses Association, 2025)

What are Nurse Navigator services?

Nurse navigator services provide personalized guidance and support to help patients confidently navigate the healthcare system by overcoming barriers.

A nurse navigator is a registered nurse who acts as a compassionate guide for patients facing complex or overwhelming medical journeys. These services are especially valuable during illness trajectory of diagnoses like cancer, chronic disease, genetic diagnosis or post-hospitalization and post-surgical recovery. Nurse Navigation Services Include:

  1. Personalized care coordination: Helping client’s schedule appointments, manage referrals, and understand treatment plans.

  2. Education and advocacy: Explaining medical terminology, procedures, medications, options, and right in clear, supportive language.

  3. Emotional support: Offering a steady presence during difficult decisions and transitions.

  4. Barrier reduction: Assisting with access to available resources like transportation, financial aid, disease -specific and/ or community support.

What are Lactation Nurse Specialist services?

Lactation nurse specialists provide compassionate, evidence-based support for all lactation journeys—including those filled with joy, challenge, and even grief. Whether you're preparing to breastfeed for the first time, navigating lactation concerns, or coping with lactation after a loss, we’re here to walk alongside you with care and understanding.

These services are provided by licensed Registered Nurses with specialized training in lactation support and maternal-child health. Their clinical background ensures that you receive evidence- informed and personalized care.

Our services may include:

  • Feeding assessments to support latch, milk supply, and baby’s growth

  • Education on pumping, milk storage, and feeding techniques

  • Support for common challenges like nipple pain, engorgement, or low supply

  • Guidance through transitions, such as returning to work or weaning

  • Lactation after loss care, including grief-informed support and help managing milk supply with sensitivity and respect to your bereavement journey

Can I Contact you Between Sessions?

Absolutely! We’re here to support you beyond our scheduled time together. While response times may vary, we’ll always do our best to get back to you promptly and thoughtfully.

Do you offer In-Person and Virtual Services?

Yes! We offer both.

We’re honored to offer in-person care for moments that matter most. Our in-person services include compassionate lactation support, safe administration of prescribed subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, and heartfelt end-of-life nurse coaching. These services are currently available throughout South Florida, including Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.

Compassionate virtual care, wherever you are. We’re proud to offer virtual sessions that bring nurse coaching, nurse navigation, and lactation support directly to you—no matter where you call home. Our services are available across a wide range of states, so you can connect with a trusted nurse from the comfort of your own space.

Currently, we serve clients in: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Do you take Insurance?

We do not accept insurance at this time. However, because services are provided by licensed Registered Nurse, we gladly accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for payment for Nurse Coaching, Prescribed SubQ or IM Injection Administration, and/or Lactation Nurse Specialist services.

A detailed receipt with provider credentials, NPI and service description can be provided upon request.

Do You Offer Discounts?

Yes! We do offer discounts—and we’re honored to support those navigating meaningful life transitions. We provide savings on monthly subscriptions and bundled service packages, which you can explore in our STORE

Also,we extend special consideration to first responders, frontline clinicians (including nurses, doctors, pharmacists, and therapists), individuals supported by Medicaid or Medicare, active military members and veterans, students, and those grieving a recent loss within the past 12 months. Can I Split My Payment?

Yes! We offer the option to pay in two installments—half upfront and the remaining balance later for our bundled service packages. Feel free to explore all our packages and payment options in our STORE

How do I Book an Appointment?

Booking is simple and designed to support your care journey. Once your click on the button that says “Add Service To Cart”, you’ll find an embedded Ave Holistic Health Google Calendar link where you can choose your preferred time according to the length of selected service appointment length “30 minute or 60 minute”.

To confirm your appointment, please make sure to:

  • Submit payment

  • Complete the intake form

  • Sign the Client Service Agreement and Consent electronically through email

Appointments that are missing any of these steps within 24 hours of scheduled appointment, will be automatically cancelled. This helps us ensure timely care and respectful scheduling for all clients. Just Contact us or email us at billing@aveholistichealth.com.

What is your Cancellation or Rescheduling Policy?

We understand that life happens, and plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask that you do so at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to offer that time to another client who may be waiting.

Appointments that are not paid for, or missing required forms (intake, consent, or service agreement) 24 hours before the scheduled time will be automatically cancelled.

Please note: If you cancel or reschedule less than 24 hours before your appointment, the session is not eligible for a refund. However, we understand that things happen—so the first late cancellation or reschedule will be pardoned. After that, our standard no-refund policy will apply. We appreciate your understanding as we work to honor everyone’s time and care needs.

What is your Refund Policy?

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and your well-being is always our priority. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice.

  • Full Refunds:

    • If canceled within 24 hours of purchasing your service

    • Or if canceled at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time

  • Partial Refunds or Credit: May be offered for late cancellations depending on circumstances

  • No-Shows: Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer refunds for missed appointments without notice
